Keep in mind that the model has NO bump mapping, specularity, or even decent textures, these are just colors to differentiate between various parts on the model so it isn’t an achromatic jumbled mess.
Ok so I was playing around with some more modeling and after about a million reference images, I finally came up with a really cool design.
His face is a direct inspiration from a LEGO Bionicle named Reidak. In fact, most of the body is inspired by different Bionicle models. The face is something I had actually been contemplating for a few months because I want something robotic but at the same time shows personality and some primal tendencies. The first thing that came to mind was the Bionicle Piraka line and it seems to fit his body-type well.
The waist and feet are actually recycled from my Hycinious model which I have yet to post because there are a few problems with it. The reason why I decided to recycle them though is because Hycinious was supposed to be a prototype model for the rest of the Cabertath Police Force which is why this guy and many of the other enemies have the same parts (No I promise you it isn’t from laziness.)
The chains are something I may have to alter. Each link is an individual mesh and though animating that will be unique…the poly count drives it up about 3,000. We’ll see if it imports into UDK and go from there.
I do have a placement idea for him in the level, but I think I’ll keep it secret until I send out some teaser pictures. Overall though the demo is fitting together nicely, I just have to fix a few texture problems and sizing.
OH and one last thing…if you can think of a good name for him please let me know. His model’s name is Bahrok but I really don’t like that name at all. It’s very…blah. So shoot me a message and I really appreciate it!
