Minecraft once again tears me away from reality
Since I’ve installed the new Bukkit mod for Minecraft I’ve been getting a little side-tracked from…you know…important things. But let me tell you it’s AMAZING!
First off, I recently visited my cousin’s city off of the coast of Pastafaria (my region) and after looking through a few of his chests, I noticed that he had a TON of supplies that he was never going to use because he used server commands to get them. So I made a new rule that all players were forbidden to use server commands until we ran out of supplies and then we would go back to using them.
This caused a ruckus between Arboria (my cousin’s region) and Pastafaria, and I found my stash of rationed goods being looted. This needed to stop and so I decided that we would be civil about this and simply trade each other gold and iron for goods. It worked ok for some time, then a new problem arose. Shortage of gold and iron.
So kkacobbett and I built an arena together where we would fight for our goods…but organizing two ten year old children to sit still and fight for goods they don’t care about is foolish. There had to be another way.
And then I found it…iConomy. It made a virtual money system that involved no physical goods (which is what virtual means) and could be gained either through selling things or killing monsters. Also you collect 0.025% interest a minute, but that doesn’t even make a good enough dent compared to killing creepers which gives you 10 coins a piece.
Not only that, but I installed a Big Brother mod which allows me to track every member’s movements in the server…to make sure NO ONE touches my chests.
Oh yeah, I probably should be working on my level in the Unreal Development Kit, but I’m still waiting on those UV maps for the SCARAB (new decided name). Oh well…there’s still an entire quarter left of school to work on it.
